Tech Trek Summer Day Camp

This project focused on completely refreshing the visual identity for TCAT Northwest’s Tech Trek Summer Day Camp, an interactive program introducing middle school students (grades 6th–9th) to hands-on technical careers. The initiative required transforming an outdated graphic into a modern emblem, alongside designing promotional materials and official camp t-shirts to drive registration and foster camp identity.

The Challenge

The existing camp branding relied on disconnected clip-art gears and thin linework that lacked visual punch and scalability across print media. The primary challenge was to unify six distinct technical disciplines—nursing, automotive/mechanical, cosmetology, computer science, carpentry, and science—into a single visual graphic. Furthermore, the updated design needed to translate across screen printing processes (single-color, dual-color, and full-color apparel runs) and anchor a promotional flyer.

Reflection

The redesigned identity elevated Tech Trek from a basic day camp to a polished educational experience. The versatile emblem allowed for flexible, cost-effective garment production across multiple shirt colors. Combined with the promotional flyer, the unified visual campaign provided TCAT Northwest with professional recruitment collateral that captured the energy of vocational discovery.
